Start with local use
Consider daily distance, fuel availability, charging access, road conditions and repair support. Ask your destination agent whether the vehicle type is eligible for import. A low purchase price is useful only when the car suits the customer’s actual use.
Petrol and diesel
Compare running costs, engine condition, transmission and local parts availability. Diesel pickups and commercial vehicles should be chosen for their intended load and duty cycle. Check the exact specification rather than assuming every version has the same engine.
Hybrid and plug-in hybrid
A conventional hybrid and a plug-in hybrid have different charging needs. Confirm the fuel system, battery condition, charging equipment and service support for the exact model. Discuss realistic usage with your customer instead of treating a laboratory range as a guarantee.
Battery-electric vehicles
Check the charging connector, compatible equipment, battery information and locally available technical support. Ask the carrier about the requirements for shipping the exact vehicle. Confirm that its usable range and charging arrangements fit the buyer’s route.
Shipment documents, costs and eligibility depend on the vehicle and destination. Confirm the current requirements with your clearing agent before placing an order.
